About This Website

This website is geared toward teens working to resolve conflicts of identity between themselves and their cultural environments. Cultural Identity means something different to each person, and is therefore difficult to define. Loosely explained, cultural identity is the perception of self in relation to cultural factors, within both the individual and their environment. In a global society it is impossible to be a part of only one culture; which makes creating a cultural identity even more complex. In today's society it is possible be a part of multiple cultures at once; and finding that balance is key to forming your identity.

"We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value, no matter what their color." - Maya Angelou.

"We have become not a melting pot but a beautiful mosiac. Different people, different beliefs, different yearnings, different hopes, different dreams." - Jimmy Carter
